On Tuesday, cybersecurity firm Odyssey issued a threat warning for Cyprus, citing an imminent attack on the country’s critical infrastructure by the hacking group LulzSec Black.

Odyssey said the politically motivated cyberattack is scheduled for October 17, targeting government, financial, and critical services across Cyprus.

Since October 17, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Bank of Cyprus and the Larnaca Airport have been targeted by cyberattacks.

The threat is believed to be in response to Cyprus’s relationship with Israel, according to the cybersecurity experts.
