Passengers at Larnaca Airport experienced significant delays due to problems with the police’s electronic passport control system on Sunday.
The issues have resulted in lengthy queues at the airport.
According to philenews sources, the system malfunction has led to increased processing time for each passenger, causing widespread disruption.

A similar situation had been reported at Paphos Airport, although the impact is less severe due to the lower number of flights operating there.
Initial reports suggested that the police were in the process of upgrading their electronic systems when the problems occurred.

Christos Andreou, the police spokesperson, has clarified that the slowdown in the electronic systems was a result of measures taken to protect against cyber attacks.
These precautionary measures have affected various electronic systems used by the police force.
