Larnaca Airport back on track after delays

The situation at Larnaca Airport has returned to normal, according to Christos Andreou, spokesperson for the police.

Speaking to the state radio (CyBC), Andreou confirmed that the system for checking individuals entering and leaving the Republic of Cyprus is now fully operational following upgrades.

When questioned about cyber attacks, Andreou explained that the upgrades were necessary to prevent potential threats.

These system improvements caused delays in processing times at Larnaca Airport yesterday.

Andreou mentioned new measures that should prevent any future issues, as additional security safeguards have been incorporated into the airport systems.

He assured that these changes would not cause problems moving forward.

The spokesperson also noted that Paphos Airport did not experience significant issues with arrivals or departures during this period.
