Cyprus is set to experience significantly above-average temperatures in the coming days, with Kitasweather indicating a substantial warm air mass from Africa will push temperatures up to 13°C higher than seasonal norms in some areas.
According to Kitasweather, temperatures may exceed 30°C in certain regions by the weekend.
Progressive temperature increases forecast
The warming trend begins Tuesday, Kitasweather explains, with temperatures expected to reach approximately 24°C in Nicosia, 21-23°C in coastal areas, and 11°C in the Troodos mountains (1900m elevation). These readings already represent 4-7°C above seasonal averages.
By Wednesday, further warming will push temperatures to around 26°C in the capital and 23-25°C along coastal regions, with mountain temperatures rising to approximately 13°C.
The upward trajectory continues through Thursday, when temperatures are forecast to climb 6-10°C above normal levels, reaching 28°C in Nicosia and between 24-27°C in coastal areas.
Weekend peak expected
Forecasts indicate the peak of this warm spell will occur over the weekend, with Saturday potentially seeing temperatures in Nicosia reach 31°C—approximately 13°C above normal seasonal values. Coastal areas are expected to reach 26-29°C, while even mountain regions will experience unusually warm conditions at around 19°C.
Data suggests these elevated temperatures will persist into early next week, with only a slight moderation expected by Tuesday.
Precipitation remains highly unlikely throughout the forecast period, with rain probabilities at 0% for most regions.
