British Bases police have identified the man found dead near Liopetri on May 11 as Antonis Spetsiotis, 77, from Xylofagou.
A gunshot was confirmed as the cause of death. The circumstances leading up to his death remain under investigation.
According to philenews sources, British Bases authorities said all possibilities in the case remain open, pending the results of specialist examination of evidence collected at the scene.
