Searches of three homes in Paphos district on Friday morning turned up a dead hare that appeared to have been killed recently, seven plucked birds and 38 cartridges of a banned type, in an operation against poaching.

The Game and Fauna Service carried out the searches under court warrants, working closely with the anti-poaching unit of the Rapid Response Motorised Unit (MMAD).

The service said it would continue targeted checks and coordinated operations with the police to prevent and combat all forms of poaching.
