John Cleese to perform in Cyprus for the first time

John Cleese, co-founder of Monty Python, will perform in Cyprus for the first time on Tuesday 10 November, at Eleftheria Arena in Nicosia.

Cleese created and starred in ‘Fawlty Towers’, and co-wrote and starred in the film ‘A Fish Called Wanda’. His show, ‘Last Time To See Me Before I Die’, looks back on more than six decades of his career through stories, memories, sharp observations and the outspoken, often dark humour he is known for.

On stage, Cleese recalls the people, collaborations and moments that shaped his life, from his time with Monty Python to his experiences in television and film. He also turns his sarcasm on the passing of time, death and the afterlife.

The title itself is a joke at his own expense. What was first billed as a farewell tour has been going for years, with Cleese still taking to the stage and finding humour even in the idea of the end.

The evening will end with questions from the audience, giving people the chance to speak to Cleese directly. The organisers warn that anyone asking particularly cheeky questions should be ready for answers to match.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from More.com Cyprus.
