A significant fire that broke out early Sunday morning at a polyurethane manufacturing plant in the Dromolaxia industrial zone has now been contained along its perimeter, according to an update from Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis.
Kettis reported that firefighting teams are currently focused on one remaining active front where raw materials continue to burn. Fire crews are intensifying efforts to fully extinguish this section.

While nearby facilities have been protected, Kettis confirmed that the factory itself has sustained extensive damage. Fire crews are currently cooling down oil and gas tanks to prevent further escalation of the situation. For safety reasons, roads leading from Dromolaxia to the factory have been closed due to concerns over potential explosions.

Thick smoke from the fire is visible throughout Larnaca, prompting increased safety measures in the surrounding area.
