The fire front in Limassol remains out of control, with homes and vehicles destroyed and continuous civilian rescue operations underway as authorities order the evacuation of Lofou village.
A second person has been hospitalised with burns from the blaze. A person with severe burns received first aid, was stabilised and transferred to the Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital.
A second victim, a woman, was also taken to Limassol hospital with burns and is being assessed by doctors from various specialities. She may be transferred to the burns clinic in Nicosia if deemed necessary.
Members of the National Guard are heading to Lofou to evacuate the community. Reports indicate the evacuation of the Pera Pedi area may also follow.
A visually impaired person who was trapped in the fire-affected area has been successfully rescued, bringing relief to an earlier urgent situation.
President Nikos Christodoulides has arrived at the crisis centre in Agios Ambrosios, accompanied by Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis and Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis.

Justice and Public Order Minister Marios Hartsiotis and Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Minister Maria Panayiotou have been at the site for hours, alongside Limassol MPs.
More than 250 personnel from multiple districts are operating in the response effort, Christodoulides confirmed. “The primary concern is that there should be no loss of human life. That is where efforts are focused. Weather conditions are not helping,” he emphasised, issuing a public appeal for all citizens to follow authorities’ instructions.

Aircraft are conducting their final water drops until tomorrow morning when operations will resume.
Regarding damage assessments, the president stated that the state will provide compensation for economic losses at a later stage.
Emergency response teams continue round-the-clock operations as the fire spreads to new areas, forcing additional evacuations whilst authorities maintain focus on preventing further casualties.
