Nice words, nice pointers from DISY on pensions. Lovely statements from Annita Dimitriou too. But people were waiting for something a bit more concrete.
Because before today’s videos on the pension issue, there was another video, about three months back, when she stood up alongside Fidias Panayiotou to say they agreed the minimum pension should be €1,088.
Logic says that now, while the talks and the meetings are actually happening, DISY should be leading with exactly that position, the one Annita Dimitriou put on the record back then. She promised Fidias, and she promised the public, a minimum pension of €1,088.
A clear explanation is still owed, not to us, to the public.
If it doesn’t come, it’ll mean the Labour Minister was right all along when he rejected that proposal and called it unworkable. And it’ll mean OEV and everyone else who talked about approaches that just stir up false hope were right too.
