Black box recordings from the Filo Jet strengthen claims that the doors to its saloon were locked on the day it sank off occupied Kyrenia, “police” told a “court” on Friday. Nine suspects, brought back before the “court” as part of the investigation, were remanded for another seven days and face “charges” of causing death through carelessness and negligence.
The captain can be heard on the ship’s voyage data recorder (VDR) telling someone he would secure a licence from Honduras for 3,000 dollars, “police” said.
“Police” also told the “court” that the VDR captured conversations indicating that the saloon doors had stayed closed for some time, as well as conversations about faults on the ship.
