A 61-year-old man detained on Monday in connection with alleged dog abuse has been released without charge, police said Tuesday.
The development follows the earlier release of a 30-year-old dog owner, who was arrested on Friday evening and subsequently released on Sunday, also without charge.
The investigation began after a woman discovered the injured dog, Eddie, in a rubbish bin in Pegeia on Friday night and reported it to authorities.
The animal remains under veterinary care while police await the results of scientific examinations.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
