The government has recently issued a termination letter to the contracted company for the Integrated Solid Waste Management (OEDA)  in Pentakomo, granting a 14-day deadline to hand over the facility to the Department of Water Development (TAY).

Ongoing issues since the facility’s inauguration in 2017 prompted the government in recent years to explore plans for taking over its operations in the event of contract termination with the current contractor.

The decision pertains to the termination of the contract for the operation of the OEDA in Pentakomo and the Waste Transfer Station (SMA) in Kandou.

The termination letter, dispatched by the DWD to the contractor, stipulates a resolution of the contract within 14 days.
