The wait is over for football fans around the world as Euro 2024 kicks off tonight in Munich, Germany.
The Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich and boasting a capacity of 75,000, will be the stage for a highly anticipated clash between host Germany and Scotland.
Both teams are part of Group A, which also includes Switzerland and Hungary. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed finishers, will progress to the knockout stages.
Germany enters the tournament as one of the favourites, but with a question mark hanging over their recent form. Coach Julian Nagelsmann’s young squad has struggled in friendlies, particularly in defence.
The former Bayern Munich boss has left out key players of the past such as Hummels, Sule, Werner, Gnabry, Brandt and Goretzka. However, “Die Mannschaft” hold the massive advantage of playing on home soil and boast a strong team spirit fostered by Nagelsmann.

Scotland, on the other hand, is brimming with confidence after reaching their second consecutive European Championship. Under manager Steve Clarke for five years now, they’ve built a solid core of players primarily based in the English Premier League.
Thousands of Tartan Army fans have arrived in Munich, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Predicted lineups
Germany (4-2-3-1): Neuer, Kimmich, Tah, Rudiger, Mittelstadt, Andrich, Kroos, Musiala, Gundogan, Wirtz, Havertz
Scotland (3-4-3): Gunn, Tierney, Hanley, Hendry, Ralston, Gilmour, McGinn, Robertson, Christie, McTominay, Adams
The game will be broadcast by CyBC 1 and CyBC HD at 10 p.m. (Cyprus time).
