A two-month-old infant with serious underlying health conditions has died at Makarios Hospital whilst being treated for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), the health ministry‘s medical services director said Wednesday.
Elisabeth Constantinou told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that the infant passed away in the hospital’s paediatric intensive care unit.
The exact cause of death is yet to be determined, Constantinou said, explaining that the final determination will be made through special World Health Organisation procedures using specific software systems.
