Two British women, aged 20 and 22, were arrested at Larnaca Airport on Wednesday for allegedly smuggling cannabis into Cyprus.
The arrests were a result of collaboration between the Police and Customs Authorities, targeting individuals importing drugs.
The women, who arrived at 12:30 p.m. from Thailand via Dubai, were stopped for inspection upon arrival.
A search of their luggage uncovered approximately 41 kilograms of cannabis.
The women were arrested and are currently in custody.
They are expected to be brought before the Larnaca Court on Thursday for detention orders.
The Larnaca Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) is continuing its investigation.
