Cyprus is under a new yellow weather warning as Storm Byron brings isolated but strong thunderstorms with rainfall potentially exceeding 35mm per hour.
The Met Office issued the warning from Saturday midday until 18:30 in the evening as the low-pressure system continues to affect the island.
The country has been under the influence of Storm Byron for the last 24 hours, according to the Met Office.
Hail is also possible during the storms, whilst sparse dust in the atmosphere will be observed at intervals, mainly in eastern areas, the service said.
Cloud thickened in many areas from Friday afternoon, with weather phenomena gradually spreading from the west and north of the island.
