A few 24 hours before the New Year, the Cyprus Police announced that they have intensified measures for the safety of the public, with various campaigns, with the top priority being the safe movement of drivers on the road network, the protection of citizens’ property from burglary and theft, the prevention of offenses such as theft of bags and purses from citizens walking on public and busy shopping streets, cyberbullying, begging and illegal collections. At the same time, the Police urge citizens to take measures to protect themselves and their property.
The statement added that during this period, police personnel will work uninterruptedly and tirelessly, with increased patrols, constant discreet and protective presence, close to the citizens aiming to provide timely and effective assistance.
