Police have arrested a 27-year-old man as part of an investigation into the seizure of more than 230 kilogrammes of narcotics in Nicosia, a case in which weapons and explosive devices were also discovered.
The arrest was carried out yesterday afternoon under a court warrant issued against the suspect.
The case concerns the discovery of over 230kg of drugs in Nicosia, along with a pistol, a revolver, explosive devices and a large number of firecrackers.
The 27-year-old was taken into custody and is expected to appear before the Nicosia district court today for remand proceedings.
Three other suspects are already being held in connection with the same case: a 26-year-old man, a 34-year-old man and another 26-year-old.
The drugs squad (YKAN) is continuing its investigations.
