The processes for the tendering of the major project to create a marina in Paphos are expected to commence by the end of the upcoming year, as stated by Giorgos Mais, the president of the Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVE Paphos).

Speaking to Phileleftheros, Mais clarified that the procedures regarding the submission of bids for the consultancy services for the project have been completed.

If there are no objections by the end of April 2024, Mais said, the evaluation and awarding of the bid are expected, after which the preparations for the tender documents will commence.

By the end of 2024, the tendering process is expected to be concluded, and the successful investor will be known.

Despite long delays and setbacks, Mais emphasized that the Paphos marina is of utmost importance to the city.

It is anticipated to enrich the tourism product, boost nautical tourism, and assist other marinas in Cyprus in fulfilling their roles.

Mais revealed that he recently had personal communication with the President of the Republic, who assured him that the processes would be expedited.

The Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the government, in general, will do whatever is necessary to advance the project as soon as possible, aligning with the state’s tourism strategy, as emphasized by Nikos Christodoulides.

As announced by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, three economic entities submitted bids for the competition related to the purchase of consultancy services for the Paphos marina project in the area Potima tis Kissonergas.

Following this, the selected consultants will be responsible for preparing the competition documents, aiming to find a strategic investor for the project.
