The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating a bomb attack on a residence in Mazotos, Philenews reports.
The incident, reported late Monday evening, targeted a property previously rented by a 54-year-old suspect currently in custody on suspicion of the Metamax pyramid scheme fraud.
According to initial reports, the explosive device detonated in the early hours of Monday morning, damaging the residence’s glass entrance.
The property owners discovered the damage and contacted authorities, who dispatched CID officers and a bomb disposal expert.
Investigators are currently collecting evidence for forensic analysis. They are also searching for CCTV footage in the surrounding area to identify potential perpetrators.
The authorities’ investigation remains ongoing.
