A 42-year-old Latvian woman holding a Cypriot identity card was found dead at her home in the Omonia area of Limassol on Saturday afternoon, after a neighbour reported a strong foul smell coming from the property.
According to police, the neighbour contacted the authorities at around 5 pm, prompting officers to visit the house, where they discovered the woman’s body in an advanced state of decomposition.
The woman had been living at the property for several years.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday to establish the cause of death.
Police are investigating the case as an unnatural death.
