Police arrested nine people in Larnaca yesterday after raids across the city uncovered 400 grams of cocaine, firearms and €9,605 in cash.
Among those arrested were a 72-year-old man, his son, 39, and his grandson, 20. The younger two, along with three others aged 19, 23 and 23, were taken to Larnaca District Court this morning and remanded for eight days.
Four others were released and will face separate charges, police said.
The five detained suspects face seven charges including conspiracy, possession and supply of Class A and B drugs, money laundering offences, and participating in a criminal organisation. One of the 19-year-olds faces an additional firearms charge.

Twenty-seven drug squad officers took part in the operation, searching homes and vehicles across Larnaca. They found cocaine, cannabis, precision scales, ten mobile phones, a pistol with silencer, another firearm, and three vehicles.
Police are hunting for the group’s drug supplier and haven’t ruled out more arrests. The suspects, some already known to police, are believed to be part of a criminal network that trafficked drugs across Larnaca district independently of other recent cases.
Officers will now examine the suspects’ financial assets.
