The Ministry of Interior has issued clarifications regarding the process for recording and repairing damages to solar water heaters, following a significant number of requests received from affected property owners.
To accelerate the claims process, homeowners with damaged units are advised to proceed with repairs without waiting for on-site inspections from Provincial Administration representatives.
Following repairs, affected individuals must complete the relevant form, available on the websites of the Interior Ministry and Provincial Administrations, and submit it by Friday, 14 March 2025, to the appropriate authorities.
Required documentation includes personal details, photographs of the water heater before and after repairs, a description of work performed by the plumber, payment invoices, a completed FIMAS authorisation form, and a copy of the owner’s IBAN for potential financial assistance.
Additionally, homeowners must provide a signed declaration confirming the application details are accurate and a statement confirming no insurance coverage exists for the specific damage.
Citizens seeking additional information are directed to consult the official websites of the Ministry and Provincial Administrations, where comprehensive guidance on the application process is available.
