AKEL is organising a protest event on Sunday, September 22nd, at 4:00 p.m., outside the Presidential Palace.
The protest comes in response to yesterday’s Supreme Court decision to remove Auditor General Odysseas Michaelides from office.
AKEL has condemned the decision, stating that it is a “blow against transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption.”
The left-wing party has accused the government of attempting to silence the Auditor General, who had been investigating allegations of corruption and mismanagement.
