Some 296 victims of trafficking have received personalized support from the Social Welfare Services (SWS) over the last two years and 34 victims have been accommodated in a shelter.
Specifically, SWS supported 147 cases during 2022 and 149 cases during 2023 to date. Some 20 victims were accommodated in the shelter in 2022, while 14 victims were accommodated in the shelter this year.
In addition, the Human Trafficking Management Unit was launched on October 2 to provide assistance, support, and incentives to victims staying at the state shelter under the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund’s 2021-2027 programming period.
These were reported at a press conference of the Ministry of Social Welfare, on the “program for the social reintegration and rehabilitation of victims of trafficking in the community,” which took place in view of the European Anti-Trafficking Day.
