More than 2,300 medicines to change prices from February

Relevant News

The health ministry has announced price changes for 2,315 medicines in its annual pharmaceutical price review, with new rates taking effect from February 3, potentially affecting patient co-payments under the national health system (GHS).

Out of 3,245 medicines reviewed, 1,827 will see price decreases, 488 will experience increases, while 930 will maintain their current prices, according to official data from the ministry’s Pharmaceutical Services.

The review excluded 2,836 products from the total list of 6,081 medicines, as they either fall into the category of low-cost medications priced below 10 euros or are non-prescription drugs whose prices are determined by market forces rather than ministry regulation.

The health ministry is currently adjusting co-payment rates for medicines covered by GHS, with detailed changes to patient contributions expected to be announced in the coming days.

The pharmaceutical price list undergoes annual revision and typically takes effect on February 1 each year.
