What will happen with the illegal refreshment stands?

Relevant News

Two new illegal refreshment stands have begun operating in recent days without approval or permits in protected areas at the heart of the Akamas Peninsula, once again demonstrating the complete lack of control and oversight.

Terra Cypria has filed complaints with the relevant authorities at the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure immediate enforcement of existing legislation, calling for the removal of unauthorized interventions, dismantling of illegal constructions, restoration of legality, and protection of the natural environment and landscape of the Akamas Peninsula.

The Department of Environment has responded by calling on the Akamas Municipality and the Paphos Tourism Board to immediately address these violations. However, the refreshment stands continue to operate undisturbed and appear likely to remain in operation throughout the summer if the responsible authorities continue to pass the buck.
