A 75-year-old woman from Nicosia died after falling into a ravine while picking mushrooms in the Morphou district on Saturday afternoon.
The victim, identified as Militsa Fanti, had travelled to a village in the district with a relative to pick mushrooms.
At around 3.50pm, she fell into a ravine under circumstances that remain under investigation, suffering serious head injuries.
She was taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where she died.
