Police cordoned off an area near the Jewish synagogue in Larnaca on Sunday morning after an unattended suitcase was found around 100 metres from the building, prompting a security alert.
According to police, the suitcase was discovered on Agiou Lazarou Street, close to the synagogue.
Officers immediately activated security protocols, sealed off the area and called in bomb disposal experts to examine the suspicious item.
The inspection found nothing suspicious, with officers confirming that the suitcase contained only clothes.
Police have maintained security measures at the Jewish synagogue since the Hamas terrorist attack.
