The Department of Meteorology has issued a Yellow Warning for heavy rain and storms, in effect from 9pm tonight until 5pm tomorrow.
The warning follows an atmospheric disturbance west of Cyprus, accompanied by an organised band of rain and storms, which is expected to gradually move over the island from tonight.
Intermittent, isolated strong storms are expected, initially across the western half of the island before spreading gradually to other areas. Rain intensity may reach between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour.
Hail and strong wind gusts are also possible in some areas.
