Cyprus police are investigating the alleged kidnapping of a 22-year-old foreign national and student living in Larnaca.
A housemate of the 22-year-old filed a report with police shortly before 1.00 am.
According to information under investigation, the 22-year-old left his home at around 6.30 pm on Thursday to start his first day of work at a factory at an unknown location.
Later that evening, his father, who lives abroad, received a phone call and messages from an unknown person demanding a sum of money in exchange for his son’s release.
The Larnaca CID is investigating.
