Iran fired two ballistic missiles at the US-UK military base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean on Saturday, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that the missiles did not hit the base.
Mehr described the strike as a “significant step” demonstrating that Iran’s missile range exceeded what its adversaries had previously believed.
