US President Donald Trump said he was very disappointed with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over Britain’s initial refusal to allow the United States to use the Diego Garcia air base to carry out strikes on Iran, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Trump made the comments in an interview with the newspaper, according to the report.
Britain had initially denied a US request to carry out air strikes from its bases, according to the report.
Later on Sunday evening, Starmer said he had accepted a request allowing the United States to use British bases for any strikes described as defensive against Iranian targets.
