Israel strikes Tehran compound housing Iranian security headquarters

Israel’s military said on Wednesday it had struck a compound in eastern Tehran housing the headquarters of all of Iran’s major security bodies.

Explosions were heard across the Iranian capital as the Israeli military said it conducted a series of strikes targeting its forces there, hitting buildings associated with the Basij — the all-volunteer force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — as well as buildings linked to Iran’s internal security command.

Wednesday’s strike, the Israeli military said, also targeted the headquarters of Iran’s intelligence services and its cyber warfare operations, all concentrated within the same eastern Tehran compound.
