Congestion at the Agios Dometios checkpoint is continuing despite the completion of infrastructure expansion works, according to Turkish Cypriot newspaper Kıbrıs Postası.
The publication reports that students crossing to the government-controlled areas to study and workers face significant delays, particularly during the morning rush. Queues are stretching as far as the next roundabout, with waiting times exceeding one hour.
A number of commuters contacted the newspaper’s reader line to complain about the disruption. The report was accompanied by photographs documenting the tailbacks.
