Police issue urgent warning over fake GESY phishing SMS scams.

Relevant News

The Sub-Directorate of Electronic Crime has received several reports from citizens concerning suspicious SMS messages that falsely claim to be from the General Healthcare System (GESY).

Specifically, these suspicious SMS messages falsely state that there’s a problem with the GESY electronic portal connection and urge unsuspecting citizens to ‘fix’ the error by activating the malicious electronic link contained within the message. This link actually leads to a phishing website designed to steal access codes/passwords.

The Sub-Directorate of Electronic Crime recommends the public take extreme care, as these types of messages are malicious and do not originate from the GESY.

The public must be particularly careful and not respond to such messages or electronic links.

Never disclose your personal information or access codes/passwords to anyone.

Always verify the authenticity of messages that request the input of access codes/passwords.

If you have entered your access codes/passwords into a suspicious electronic link, you must IMMEDIATELY change the password and secure the account.

Maintain a different access code/password for every electronic service you use.
