Perseids meteor shower 2025

Relevant News

Join the Larnaca Photo Club for our annual Perseids meteor shower outing — one of the most impressive celestial events of the summer.

The Perseids occur every August as Earth crosses the debris stream left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle. The meteors appear to radiate from the constellation Perseus, which gives the shower its name. Known since antiquity, the Perseids are a favorite among stargazers and photographers alike.

This year, the peak is expected on the night of August 12, with the Moon at 85% brightness. While this may reduce visibility of faint meteors, the brighter ones will still be clearly visible and photogenic.

📸 The event is open to all, whether you’re there to shoot or just enjoy the sky.

🎒 Recommended gear for photography:

Camera, Wide-angle lens, Tripod, Intervalometer

Memory cards & extra batteries

📸 Club members will be available to assist with settings or tips.
