At least 23 Palestinians killed as Israeli forces fire on aid seekers in Gaza

At least 23 Palestinians have been killed after Israeli forces opened fire on aid seekers near the Netzarim axis in central Gaza, according to Al Jazeera reports citing sources at al-Awda hospital in Deir al-Balah.

The incident formed part of broader Israeli attacks that killed 34 Palestinians since midnight on Friday, the Qatar-based broadcaster reported. Independent verification remains impossible as Israel prevents foreign journalists from entering the devastated territory.

Israeli forces killed at least 72 Palestinians on Thursday, including 21 people who had gathered near food distribution sites operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

The casualties included women and children, with Al Jazeera reporter Anas al-Sharif posting footage showing children’s bodies scattered in streets following an Israeli attack on displacement tents near Gaza City.

Israel has blocked UN and other aid organisations from operating in Gaza, instead permitting the GHF to function. Since the foundation began operations several weeks ago, Israeli forces have killed at least 300 civilians attempting to access food at distribution sites, according to reports.

Experts, governments, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organisations have accused Israel of carrying out genocide against the Palestinian people.
