The Cyprus University of Technology’s Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics has completed a high-precision drone survey of the damaged Mavrokolympos dam, using advanced mapping technology to assess the structure.
The university deployed sophisticated drone platforms equipped with airborne LiDAR, high-precision IMU systems, and optical and multispectral sensors to create detailed maps of the facility.
The mapping data will be provided to the Water Development Department to support repair planning following a catastrophic failure that led to the dam‘s drainage.
