An 87-year-old British man, who was holidaying in Cyprus with his wife, has been found dead in the sea off the coast of Peyia.
It is noted that the British man was not far from the shore.
Bathers noticed that he had lost consciousness while in the sea and alerted the lifeguards.
The lifeguards promptly responded, retrieved the man from the sea, and administered first aid, but he did not respond.
