A large-scale photo exhibition celebrating the achievements of 15 Cypriot para-athletes has opened at the Molos seafront in Limassol, following a successful debut at Larnaca Airport.
Yes, I Can, initiated by the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation with the support of the Cyprus National Paralympic Committee, features large-format portraits of athletes competing across para-swimming, archery, athletics and wheelchair tennis. The Limassol edition was made possible through a partnership with the Municipality of Limassol.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Yiannis Armeftis, government officials and the athletes themselves, who stood alongside their portraits and coaches. Guests and athletes also took part in an inclusive basketball session during the event.
“Hosting the ‘Yes, I Can’ exhibition at the Molos area is a meaningful initiative for our city,” Armeftis said. “It is not only an exhibition of powerful photography, but also a reminder of the importance of building a truly accessible and inclusive city for everyone.”
Foundation founder Kateryna Biloruska said the exhibition aimed to show that every challenge can be turned into an opportunity. “Through these portraits, we celebrate the human dignity and the universal language of sport,” she said. “We want every person, regardless of their challenges, to look at these stories and say with confidence: Yes, I can.”
Andreas Georgiou, President of the Cyprus National Paralympic Committee, said bringing the exhibition to Limassol helped break down social barriers. “This partnership allows us to showcase the human side of professional para-sports — the grit, the sweat, and the triumph,” he said.
The photography was produced by Michalis Antoniou and Giorgos Charalambous. The exhibition is open to the public at the Limassol Molos area. Visitors can share their favourite portraits on social media using the hashtag #YesICan.
