The Rousia family runs three Stou Rousia restaurants, in Larnaca, Nicosia and Kato Drys. The business receives the Cypriot Cuisine Award each year at the “Golden Toques Cyprus” awards.

Each restaurant differs in character but uses the same format: Cypriot food, quality ingredients, large portions and traditional recipes.

The business started in Larnaca, where the taverna is located in the old town. Tables are placed on the pedestrian street outside during summer; in winter, service moves into a stone-walled dining hall. The Nicosia restaurant opened later, using the same menu and format. The Kato Drys location is outdoors, under a plane tree, and is used for group and family seating.

The menu includes a Cypriot meze with dishes from across the island. It also offers handmade pasta, including kalitsounia and ravioles with halloumi or spinach, and daily cooked dishes: beef stifado, beef stew with village-style macaroni, Smyrna-style soutzoukakia, afelia with bulgur, and stuffed cabbage leaves.

Grilled items on the menu include souvlaki, sheftalia, lamb chops, pork chops and Angus rib eye. Other dishes include pastourma, sausages, halloumi, fried kefalotyri, battered celery, strapatsada and oyster mushrooms.

Stou Rousia is family-run at all three locations: Larnaca, Nicosia and Kato Drys.
