Cypriot artist Della has secured a nomination for the Music Moves Europe Awards 2026, becoming the first musician from the island to receive recognition from the European Union’s premier prize for emerging talent.
Selected from artists across the continent, Della joins 14 other nominees competing for awards that have previously recognised global stars including Adele, Dua Lipa, Fontaines D.C., Hozier and Rosalía.
Her label, Louvana Records, announced the nomination on Monday, describing it as a watershed moment for Cypriot artists seeking international recognition.
Public voting for the Music Moves Europe Public Choice Award opened this week at mmeawards.eu, with Europeans able to support their preferred nominees online. The prize comprises seven awards, including the Grand Jury Award and Public Choice Award, determined through combined jury deliberation and public participation.
Della will perform at the Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) festival in Groningen this January, one of Europe’s most influential showcases for emerging artists. Industry professionals, festival curators and music tastemakers regularly attend the Dutch event to identify breakthrough talent.
The awards ceremony takes place at ESNS on 15 January 2026, when winners will be announced.
Andreas Trachonitis, founder and producer at Louvana Records, described the nomination as evidence of a transformation in Cyprus’s music industry.
“We’re witnessing a generational shift in how Cypriot artists can move, sound and connect,” Trachonitis said. “Della’s nomination marks the new wave of artists, emerging from scenes that have been overlooked by the mainstream but are now impossible to ignore.”
The Music Moves Europe Awards seek to identify creativity and artistic vision in contemporary European music, rewarding musicians who take creative risks within an evolving industry ecosystem.
