A man from Larnaca has achieved unlikely international stardom after legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg shared a video of the Cypriot man reciting his lyrics to his 1.2 billion Instagram followers.
Antonios Spyrou Constantinou, who has built a large following by performing unique, a cappella recitations of contemporary trap and rap songs, caught the attention of the global icon with his rendition of the hit “Young, Wild and Free.” The post has since approached one million views, prompting Constantinou to respond with a public message of gratitude: “I proud [sic] you included my video.”
Constantinou’s rise to fame has been driven by the contrast between his traditional appearance and his choice of material, which often features gritty lyrics about street life and narcotics delivered in a distinctive Cypriot accent. His style has resonated with younger audiences, pushing his TikTok following toward the 100,000 mark and his Instagram to 30,000.

Beyond the Snoop Dogg endorsement, he has received praise from regional stars, including Eurovision hopeful Akylas. After Constantinou performed the track “Ferto-Parto,” Akylas commented with a crown emoji, signalling that the Larnaca resident had effectively claimed the “king” status of Greek music social media.
