A fire that broke out late Friday night in a private vehicle parked inside a metal garage in Strovolos appears to have been caused by arson, according to preliminary evaluations.
The Fire Service received an emergency call at 21:41 regarding the vehicle, which was parked opposite the owner’s residence. A neighbor managed to extinguish the flames using a garden hose prior to the arrival of emergency crews.
One fire engine responded to the scene, where firefighters conducted an inspection and performed final damping-down operations to ensure the area was fully secured.
Initial official evaluations indicate the fire was set maliciously, with joint investigations continuing to confirm the precise causes.
