Two of the six suspects held over the armed robbery of a couple’s home in Sfalangiotissa, Limassol, have admitted their involvement, Phileleftheros understands. Limassol District Court on Thursday renewed the suspects’ remand for a further eight days.
One of the two told Limassol CID investigators that the suspects had watched the house for three days beforehand and had tried to get in on an earlier occasion, it is understood. The complainant has also recognised the 29-year-old suspect as the man who installed a door at her home in January 2026, the information shows.
The six, aged 25, 24, 27, 20, 29 and 24, appeared in court again as their remand orders were due to expire, and the court granted the investigating officer’s request for an eight-day extension.
The robbery took place in the early hours of 8 October. According to evidence presented at an earlier remand hearing, the robbers bound the husband with tape and cable ties, threatened him with knives and a pistol, and made his 36-year-old wife open a safe, from which they took cash and gold. The stolen property is worth 327,000 euros in total, Phileleftheros understands.
What the suspects told police
The suspect who admitted involvement also described in detail how they entered the house and carried out the robbery, and said he could identify all the suspects, it is understood. He said one of the wanted suspects had distributed part of the money in the area where the 25-year-old suspect lives.
The 24-year-old arrested on 22 October while collecting jewellery from an unwitting third party admitted in a written statement that he had gone there on the instructions of one of the three wanted suspects, to collect the stolen property and keep it, according to the information.
Police also obtained a written statement that the 27- and 29-year-old suspects went to a casino in Limassol after the robbery with two of the wanted suspects and gambled with some of the proceeds, Phileleftheros understands. In his own written statement, the 29-year-old said he had been asleep until the 27-year-old woke him, and that he gambled 100 euros. The evidence shows he gambled 480 euros, according to the same information.
The complainant’s account
The 36-year-old complainant gave Limassol CID a detailed account of the robbery and identified 110 items of jewellery among the stolen property. She also identified the three wanted suspects as having taken part, the information shows.
Six searches have been carried out and 155 items of evidence collected so far, and more statements are expected, Phileleftheros understands. Police are still searching for the three wanted suspects, who allegedly worked with the six and were directly involved in the robbery, as well as for the firearm and the clothing used.
