Nicosia Municipality has launched an adoption campaign for 35 dogs currently housed at a temporary shelter, marking World Animal Day on 4 October.
The dogs available for adoption are fully vaccinated and neutered and have microchips and health booklets.
Anyone interested in adopting one of the animals can contact the shelter operator, SIMBA ANIMAL AID LTD, on 99 657631.
The municipality also used World Animal Day to highlight the need for greater awareness, protection and respect for animals, as well as ensuring their welfare and decent living conditions.
“Caring for and protecting animals is everyone’s responsibility,” Nicosia Deputy Mayor Chrysanthos Fakas said in a message marking the day.
