Main road in Paphos closes for repairs

State authorities have begun repair work on a damaged section of the main road from Tremithousa to Tala and Agios Neophytos Monastery.

The road subsidence near Tremithousa Primary School is being treated as a priority due to safety concerns and the route’s importance, according to authorities.

The damage is dangerous to motorists as the stretch is heavily trafficked, as it’s on the main road to Agios Neophytos and also connects to the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous highway.

During the repairs, the affected area has been clearly marked. Traffic to and from Agios Neophytos Monastery is being diverted through Tremithousa village centre.

Authorities have closed approximately one kilometre of the main avenue to all traffic, starting from its intersection with Mesogis Avenue.

Detour signs have been installed to guide motorists travelling to and from Tala and Agios Neophytos.
