Six people were injured in a two-car crash in Limassol on Friday night, with a 61-year-old woman in intensive care and two others hospitalised in serious but non-life-threatening conditions.
The collision occurred at around 10.50 pm on Omonias Avenue, when a car driven by a 32-year-old man, carrying three passengers aged 20, 22 and 19, collided with a vehicle driven by the 61-year-old woman, who was accompanied by a 62-year-old passenger.
The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
The woman was initially taken to Limassol General Hospital, where doctors found she had suffered several injuries, including a subarachnoid haemorrhage, a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) and a pelvic fracture.
Due to the severity of her condition, she was intubated and transferred to a private hospital, where she remains in intensive care.
The 62-year-old passenger suffered fractures to a vertebra and several ribs, while the 20-year-old passenger in the other vehicle sustained bleeding from an artery in his pelvis.
Both are being treated in hospital in serious but non-life-threatening conditions.
The 32-year-old driver and his two other passengers, aged 22 and 19, escaped serious injury but were kept in hospital as a precaution.
Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
